Alienated by Melissa Landers

You're probably going like, WHAT?! Seriously, you're done?! Are you jobless? The answer is pretty simple, earthlings. (Get the book reference!?) Yes, I'm done. And yes, I'm pretty jobless. Other than sitting around reading a book. Because, let's be real, we all have that one book from time to time that you'd do anything for. Well, here's mine. Warning: If you're deciding on reading this book before January 2015, don't. Don't read it then, because you're going to love it and won't be able to contain your excitement for the next book, Invaded, which doesn't come out until February 2015. So, be warned.
Genre: YA Sci-fi/Romance (I have no idea whether it's contemporary or not.)
Pages: 344
Type of Book: #1 in Alienated
My Rating: A big fat, Isn't-it-as-obvious-as-daylight 5 out of 5 stars. In fact I'd give it a 100 if I could!

Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

Let's just skip the formalities and get down to it! This book is holy macaroni, awesome! It is probably the second Alien series I'm reading and I'm starting to think if all aliens are this hot and swoon-worthy. Cuz if they are, gosh, wasn't I missing out on things!
But anyways, the characters were amazing, although I didn't get them at times. But then again, of you got everything, where the hell was the surprise? So, I loved Cara, the passionate red head. She was a really great female character. She was intelligent, and she was beautiful, passionate, loving and caring. And most importantly, she stood up for herself, aka the sexiest thing ever. Hey, you dirty mind! I'm not a lesbo.
A-licks, I love his name!, was a bit more difficult to understand. He was cold and not very friendly in the beginning. But slowly, emotion crept pass and I really enjoyed his character. I loved the way he took it on himself to make his Elire feel better by making her a "bowl full of diabetes". He was, altogether, a well developed character.
I thought the whole Puppy Love game was really nice. I've always had a thing for virtual pet dogs. So this was perfect! I absolutely enjoyed the whole blog and the posts were really great and really helpful in someways. Now, I'm dying to get my hands on the sequel, Invaded.
